Sow seeds indoors in pots filled with a well-draining seed-starting mix, about 1/4 inch deep. Keep the soil consistently moist and maintain a temperature around 70°F (21°C). Germination can take several weeks to a few months. Once seedlings have developed several sets of true leaves and the danger of frost has passed, acclimate them to outdoor conditions before transplanting to a sunny location with well-drained soil.

Young apple trees require regular watering during their first few years to establish a strong root system. Mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Prune as needed to shape the tree and remove dead or crossing branches. While seed-grown apples may not produce fruit identical to the parent, they can still yield delicious fruit and serve as a beautiful ornamental tree.

What's Included

25 Spigold Apple Seeds (Malus domestica 'Spigold').
