Camellia japonica brings year-round structure to the garden with its dense, upright habit and long flowering season, and it performs beautifully as a specimen shrub, an informal hedge, or a container plant for patios and conservatories.

Grown for its elegant blooms and polished evergreen leaves, Japanese Camellia works well in mixed shrub borders, woodland edges, and sheltered courtyard plantings. Plants grow slowly into a rounded to upright shrub with a long life span, and flowers appear on mature wood during the cooler months. Seeds are a rewarding way to raise new plants, though seedlings vary in flower color and form compared to the parent. Provide consistent moisture, shelter from harsh wind, and a position out of direct afternoon sun for best results.
Species: Camellia japonica
Type: Evergreen flowering shrub
Plant_Habit: Dense, upright, rounded
Sun: Partial shade to filtered light
Soil: Moist, well-drained, acidic
Days_to_Harvest: Not applicable
Zones: 7-9
Germination: 4-8 weeks, variable
Sowing: Sow 1/2 inch deep, keep warm and moist
Spacing: 5-8 feet
Notes: Seedlings vary in flower color and form; blooms appear on mature plants

https://blakesflora.com/products/5-seeds-japanese-camellia-camellia-japonica-ornamental-flowering-shrub
