Dip the cut end in rooting hormone if desired, then insert it into the medium about 2 inches deep. Keep the medium consistently moist but not waterlogged, and provide bright, indirect light. High humidity helps; you can cover the cuttings with a plastic dome or bag to retain moisture. Roots typically form within a few weeks. Once rooted, gradually acclimate the young plants to outdoor conditions before transplanting into the garden.

Butterfly bush thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish a deep root system. Once established, it is relatively drought tolerant. Prune in late winter or early spring to encourage vigorous growth and abundant blooms. Deadhead spent flowers to promote continued flowering.

What's Included

7 live unrooted cuttings of Buddleja davidii (purple butterfly bush), each approximately 6 inches long.

https://blakesflora.com/products/purple-butterfly-bush-cuttings-7-unrooted-buddleja-davidii-stems-6-inches
