Press seeds lightly into the soil surface and keep them moist but not waterlogged; germination usually occurs within 10–14 days at around 65–70°F. Once seedlings are large enough to handle, thin or transplant them to their final spacing. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil, and water regularly during dry spells. Pinch back tips to encourage bushier growth and harvest leaves as needed throughout the growing season.

Summer Savory is relatively low-maintenance and rarely troubled by pests. To preserve flavor, harvest leaves before the plant flowers, or allow a few plants to bloom for pollinator benefits. At the end of the season, you can collect seeds for next year’s garden.

What's Included

1 gram of Summer Savory (Satureja hortensis) seeds.
