Planting & Care
Sow Magellan Scarlet Zinnia seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost, or direct sow outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Cover seeds lightly with soil and keep them moist until germination, which typically occurs in 7-14 days at 70-75°F (21-24°C). Once seedlings have two sets of true leaves, thin or transplant them to the recommended spacing.
For best results, plant in a location with full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, and avoid overhead watering to prevent disease. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming. Zinnias are relatively low-maintenance and benefit from a light application of fertilizer at planting time.
