12 Ranunculus Bulbs Ranunculus asiaticus Persian Buttercup Spring Blooming

Ranunculus asiaticus, commonly known as Persian buttercup, is a beloved spring-flowering bulb prized for its densely layered, rose-like blooms in a wide range of vivid colors. Each stem carries a single, fully double flower above ferny green foliage, making these bulbs a standout choice for borders, containers, and cut flower gardens. They perform best in cool, mild weather and reward gardeners with an abundance of long-lasting blooms.

Ranunculus blooms are excellent for cutting, holding well in arrangements and adding rich color and texture to bouquets. In the garden, they mix beautifully with other cool-season flowers and work well in beds, patio pots, and mass plantings. Plant the claw-like tubers with the pointed side down in well-drained soil and keep evenly moist during the growing season. Foliage dies back after bloom as plants enter summer dormancy.
