Chandler Strawberry Bare Roots are a popular springbearing variety known for producing large, sweet, flavorful berries. This ever-popular strawberry is a favorite among home gardeners for its excellent taste and reliable yields. The plants form compact, mounding habit and produce white flowers followed by bright red fruit, making them an attractive addition to edible landscapes, raised beds, and containers.

Chandler strawberries are well-suited for fresh eating, freezing, and preserving. As a springbearing type, they typically produce one main crop per season, often with a smaller second flush. Planting & Care

Plant bare roots in early spring or fall when the soil is workable. Soak the roots in water for 30-60 minutes before planting. Dig a hole large enough to spread the roots, and set the plant so the crown is at soil level. Backfill with soil, firm gently, and water thoroughly. Space plants 12-18 inches apart in rows 3-4 feet apart.

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during flowering and fruiting. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring and again after harvest. Mulch around plants to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Remove runners to encourage larger berries, and renovate beds after harvest by removing old foliage. In colder zones, protect plants with a layer of mulch during winter.
