Planting & Care

Thin seedlings to the recommended spacing to allow good air circulation. Cosmos prefers full sun and well-drained soil; avoid over-fertilizing, as rich soil can produce more foliage than flowers. Water regularly during dry spells, but do not overwater.

Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Tall varieties may benefit from staking in windy areas. Cosmos are generally low-maintenance and resistant to deer and rabbits.
