Press seeds lightly into the soil and keep evenly moist until germination, which typically occurs in 7-14 days. Once seedlings have two sets of true leaves, thin or transplant them to their final spacing.
These marigolds thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly, especially during dry spells, but allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Tall varieties may benefit from staking in windy areas.
