The Afganski Pomegranate is a cold-hardy variety of Punica granatum prized for its ornamental beauty and edible fruit. It works well as a specimen plant, in edible landscapes, or as a container plant on patios.

Planting & Care

Plant your Afganski Pomegranate starter plug in a sunny location with well-drained soil. If planting in a container, choose a pot with drainage holes and use a quality potting mix. Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish a strong root system. Once established, pomegranates are relatively drought-tolerant but benefit from consistent moisture during flowering and fruiting.

Prune in late winter to remove dead or crossing branches and to shape the plant. Pomegranates can be grown in the ground or in containers, making them versatile for different garden settings. In colder zones, container-grown plants can be moved indoors or protected during winter.
