Planting & Care
Plant your bare root American Sycamore in early spring or late fall while dormant. Choose a site with full sun and adequate space for its mature size. Dig a hole wide enough to spread the roots, position the crown at or slightly above soil level, backfill with native soil, and water thoroughly to settle the soil. Apply a layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the trunk.
Water regularly during the first growing season to encourage deep roots. Once established, the tree is relatively low-maintenance but benefits from occasional deep watering during dry spells. Prune only to remove dead or damaged branches in late winter.
