Anubias Nana Live Aquarium Plant Bare Root Low Light Freshwater Easy Small
Anubias Nana is a compact, slow-growing aquatic plant prized by freshwater aquarists for its deep green, broad leaves and undemanding nature. Its small stature makes it an excellent choice for nano tanks, foreground planting, and attaching to driftwood or rocks to create natural-looking aquascapes. Because it thrives in low-light conditions, it is a reliable plant for beginners and experienced hobbyists alike.
This plant is offered as a bare root specimen, meaning it arrives without a pot or substrate, ready to be placed in your aquarium. Anubias Nana is a rhizome plant, so the rhizome should not be buried; instead, it can be tied or glued to hardscape, where it will gradually anchor itself. Its hardy leaves are also unpalatable to many plant-eating fish, making it a practical addition to community tanks.

Planting & Care
When your Anubias Nana arrives, inspect the rhizome and remove any damaged or decaying roots or leaves. Do not bury the rhizome in substrate, as this can cause it to rot. Instead, attach the plant to driftwood, rock, or aquarium decor using thread, fishing line, or aquarium-safe glue. Over time, the roots will grip the surface naturally. Place the plant in an area with low to moderate light; higher light may encourage algae on the leaves.
Anubias Nana is adaptable to a range of freshwater conditions but prefers clean water with consistent temperature and pH. Regular partial water changes help maintain water quality. Because growth is slow, fertilization is optional; if used, a liquid fertilizer containing micronutrients can support health. Prune yellowing leaves as needed and divide the rhizome to propagate new plants.
