Calendula Pacific Beauty is a beloved heirloom annual known for its rich, dark yellow to golden-orange blooms that brighten beds, borders, and cutting gardens from early summer through fall. Also called pot marigold, this easy-to-grow flower produces daisy-like blossoms with layered petals and a soft, warm color that pairs beautifully with other cottage garden favorites.

Pacific Beauty calendula is a favorite for pollinator gardens, edible flower plantings, and cut flower arrangements. The plants grow quickly from seed and reward gardeners with a long bloom season when spent flowers are removed regularly. Whether you are planting a dedicated cutting patch or tucking a few seeds into a vegetable garden, these heirloom seeds offer dependable color and old-fashioned charm.

Planting & Care

Sow Calendula Pacific Beauty seeds directly in the garden after the last frost, or start them indoors a few weeks earlier for a head start. Plant seeds about 1/4 inch deep and keep the soil consistently moist until germination. Thin or transplant seedlings so plants have room to spread and receive good air circulation.

Once established, calendula is relatively low-maintenance. Water during dry spells, and deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continued flowering. These flowers can also be cut for fresh arrangements or left in the garden to self-sow for future seasons.
