Planting & Care

Start Legend Tomato seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date. Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep in seed-starting mix and keep at 70-80°F for germination, which typically takes 7-14 days. Once seedlings have two sets of true leaves, transplant them into larger pots and gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions.

Transplant outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, spacing plants 24-36 inches apart in a sunny location with well-drained soil. Water regularly to maintain even moisture, and apply a balanced fertilizer according to package instructions. Provide support such as cages or stakes to keep plants upright and fruit off the ground. Monitor for pests and diseases, and practice crop rotation to maintain plant health.
