Its large, lobed leaves and tendrils quickly cover trellises, arbors, and fences, providing lush green shade and a beautiful natural screen. In late summer, it produces clusters of sweet, musky-flavored grapes that are prized for fresh eating, jelly, and juice. This versatile vine also supports local wildlife and adds a productive, ornamental touch to any sunny landscape.
Whether you are establishing a home vineyard or simply want a fast-growing ornamental climber, this muscadine grape is an excellent choice. It adapts well to warm, humid climates and is relatively low-maintenance once established.

Planting & Care
Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil and provide a sturdy trellis, arbor, or fence for support. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and plant at the same depth as in the nursery pot. Water thoroughly after planting and keep the soil consistently moist during the first growing season to help establish a strong root system. Mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.
Once established, muscadine grapes are relatively drought-tolerant but benefit from regular watering during dry spells. Prune annually during the dormant season to maintain shape and encourage vigorous growth and fruit production. Fertilize lightly in early spring if needed.
