Planting & Care

Sow Cosmos Purity seeds directly outdoors after the last frost date, or start them indoors 4-6 weeks before transplanting. Lightly press seeds into the soil surface and keep moist until germination, which typically occurs in 7-21 days at 70-75°F. Thin seedlings to stand 12-18 inches apart to allow good air circulation. These plants thrive in full sun and well-drained soil; avoid over-fertilizing, as rich soil can promote excessive foliage at the expense of blooms. Water regularly during dry spells, but allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming.
