Planting & Care

Shirley Poppy seeds can be sown directly outdoors in early spring or fall. Prepare a sunny spot with well-drained soil, scatter seeds lightly, and press them into the surface—do not cover deeply, as light aids germination. Keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge. Once established, thin seedlings to the recommended spacing to allow good air circulation.

Water regularly during dry spells, but avoid overwatering. Remove spent blooms to encourage continued flowering. Shirley Poppies are low-maintenance and will readily self-sow for future seasons.
