Planting & Care

Plant cottonwood seedlings in a location with full sun and adequate space for their mature size. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and at the same depth. Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish a deep root system. Once established, cottonwood is relatively low-maintenance but may require occasional pruning to remove dead or damaged branches.
