Its delicate texture and subtle taste make it a favorite among home gardeners and market growers alike.

Easy to grow and quick to mature, White Boston Lettuce is an excellent choice for spring and fall planting. It performs well in cool weather and can be grown in garden beds, raised beds, or containers. Planting & Care

Sow White Boston Lettuce seeds directly in the garden as soon as the soil can be worked in spring, or start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost. For a continuous supply, sow seeds every 2-3 weeks until early summer, and again in late summer for a fall crop. Thin seedlings to the recommended spacing to allow heads to develop properly.

Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged, as lettuce has shallow roots and can dry out quickly. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Harvest outer leaves as needed or cut entire heads when they feel firm. Lettuce prefers cooler temperatures and may bolt in hot weather, so provide afternoon shade in warmer climates.
