Planting & Care

Sow White Sweet Pea seeds outdoors in early spring, after the danger of frost has passed, or start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Soak seeds in water for 24 hours before planting to help soften the seed coat and improve germination. Plant seeds about 1 inch deep in a sunny location with well-drained soil. Keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge.

Once seedlings are a few inches tall, provide a trellis or support for the vines to climb. Water regularly during dry spells, but avoid waterlogging. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. In late fall, cut back the vines to ground level. White Sweet Pea is generally low-maintenance and may self-seed in favorable conditions.
